~ Derek Eversfield & Denny Azriman
Derek Eversfield is an Animator, Animation director, supervisor, storyboard artist, and also a teacher. he had worked in most facets of animation product - Feature films, television series , commercials, and Music video, for companies such as Dreamworks, Marvel, Disney, Nickelodeon and HBO. He shared his experiences on "Why Choose Animation as a career and can i make a living at it".
Denny Azriman, the founder of Ambuyart Animation, a start-up company incubated at iCentre. Famous for it's Cartoon Animation, Denny shared his thoughts on " Starting your own Animation Company” in Brunei.
~ Peter Koen
Peter Koen is a tenured Associate Professor in the wesley J.Howe School of Technology Management also the director of the Consortium for Corporate Entrepreneurship (CCE) founded in 1998. Peter is Engaged in Optimising the front end of innovation determining the most efficient practice in the Front End.
Throughout his presentation, peter encouraged lectures to be "Student Centric". there were no class/ no lectures and materials are available for the student outside the classroom. He greatly support this kind of teaching and learning ways often referred to as a " Flipping classroom"
~ Simon Soo (Malppy.com)
Malppy.com of Giftbox Enteprise was founded by Simon Soo. Simon was one of the grants winner of LEAP Grant "Kick Start their Business" from BEDB and also grants winner for AITI( Authority for Info-Communication Technology Industry). During his sharing session, he shared about his Entrepreneurial Journey and how he dealt with the challenges faced as a local start-up company.
~ Margaret Manning
One of the Stevie award winning female entrepreneurs in the world. She was invited by the British High Commissioner to give a talk at Entrepreneurship at campus. It was attended by numerous students from different IHLS, such as Laksamana, Polyteknik, ITB, Cosmopolitan. The talk was fruitful and also motivational.
~ Workshop On Intellectual Property, Innovation and Commercialization
A few representatives from E@C Committee members and incubatees were invited to this workshop. The topic of the workshop evolves around intellectual property, for example on how do they protect their invention and their idea. What are the perspective should they look into. The workshop was very insightful as this workshop presents a different way to deliver the message of intellectual property and also Entrepreneurship.
~ Ted Bather ( Storyland Asia)
K-HUB and Craft of Icentre have invited E@C members to attend a workshop by Ted Bather, CEO of Storyland Asia . He is an cartoon Animator and also an expert in Marketing. During the workshop, Mr.Bather gave very insightful information about animation companies. It gave the audience an idea on how animation companies earns their income and how the production proccesses normally works in an animation company.
~ TOON BOOM
ToonBoom is an Animation Company that specialise in designing animation software. To name a few famous cartoons produced by Toon Boom are: SpongeBob, Curious George, The Rugrats, The princess and the Frog, Simpsons the movie. The software that they designed are widely used around the animation market by the famous large movie and cartoon producer, such as Disney, Nickelodeon, Fox and Warner Bros.
