Business Experts Hosts Talk on Entrepreneurship

Bandar Seri Begawan: The British High Commission in Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with Jerudong International School (JIS), iCentre and Entrepreneurship at Campus (E@C), hosted talks by the Gold Winner of the Stevies International Business Awards 2013 - Margaret Manning, who won the Executive of the Year Award. Margaret shared her own experiences about marketing her idea as well as the struggles she faced in doing so, and how she overcame them.

Start-up to use AR for learning application

A LOCAL startup is developing an interactive learning application that will utilise augmented reality (AR) technology to give young readers an immersive and engaging learning experience.The technology will bring a physical storybook to life, with animation and narration, via a supple mobile or tablet application.

 

The firm, Zestberry Technologies comprises of a team of final year undergraduates of Higher National Diploma in Internet and Multimedia Development at Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB).The startup has recently joined the incubation at the Entrepreneurship@Campus (E@C) programme at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) to focus on bringing the project to realisation.

On April 17, the Faculty of Business, Economics and Policy Studies (UBD) organised its first Entrepreneurship Day and Business Plan Competition. This event was supported by E@C (entrepreneurship at campus) as part and parcel of its vision to support entrepreneurial activities within the university.

 

 

BruART Augmented Reality Project

A STARTUP specialising in augmented reality (AR) technology wants to capitalise on Brunei’s collection of folklore and help bring it to the masses.Having received top honours at the recently concluded Ignite Entrepreneurship Challenge 2013 under the College and University Category, BruArt is now seeking funding to develop its AR storybook project for commercialisation.

 

The award-winning business idea utilises AR technology to bring a storybook on Bruneian folklore into life with animation and narration via a supplied mobile or tablet application, giving readers an immersive, engaging and fun reading experience.
