Ignite 2012 marks record participation

A TOTAL of 129 executive summaries were submitted to iCentre's business plan writing competition this year, a 55 per cent increase from the previous edition in 2011.The programme also drew the highest number of student participation, mainly attributed to iCentre's latest initiative geared at encouraging the participation of Bruneian youths for this year's edition of Ignite.

 

According to a press statement released by iCentre yesterday, the incubation centre recorded a 55 per cent increase in executive summary submissions from last year, where 71 executive summaries were submitted.

E@C: Platform to turn ideas into reality

BUSINESS undergraduates with a great new idea or business plan are urged to take advantage of the recently launchedEntrepreneurship@Campus (E@C) programme in order to turn their ideas into reality."Many young students do have a lot of big ideas. Without a proper platform, their ideas would go unnoticed," said Tse Tow Joon Mann, the president of E@C an initiative dedicated to support local entrepreneurship among students.

 

At the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Entrepreneurship Day & Business Plan Exhibition last Wednesday, the team at E@C set up a booth to attract undergraduates at the university's Faculty of Business, Economics Policy Studies (FBEPS), who were showcasing their business plans as part of the course's business module.

ICENTRE yesterday launched an entrepreneurship boot camp aimed at students of higher learning institutions in the country.The Entrepreneurship at Campus (EaC) Accelerator Boot Camp, a collaboration between iCentre, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), serves as a platform for students to sharpen their business plan writing skills and polish business ideas......
